Keep Calm and Shovel Snow!!! Hope everyone enjoyed the snow this past week! Welcome back!!
RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Keep in mind the main points discussed from District Opening Day: Things I CAN Control…
Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity) Students at RPS were so very excited about our first snow of the year! The two days we were here at school were filled with anticipation of the big snow that was on the way! As one of our staff's little ones put it; "Best day....EVER!" Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright) At RMIS we are so thankful that we were able to have fun with COSI before the big snow hit! Students had fun experimenting with Chemistry! A huge thanks to RMIS PTA and our student volunteers from RHS. Russell Middle School (From the desk of Mr. Moore)
Russell High School (From the desk of Mrs. Chaffin)
Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble)
Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) Preschoolers had a fun two days extending their study of hibernation through a theme centered on "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. One of the most favored activities was watching Jan Brett demonstrate how to draw a hedgehog and then following her guidance to draw our own. We are looking forward to exploring using our five senses this week. What’s happening at central office / district this week?
It’s a great day to be a Red Devil! Have a great week Russell! Sean

Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) This was a great week at RATC, with students continuing to grow and see success in our classrooms and labs, as well as in the community. A couple of our positive events this week include: The marketing students from Mrs. Phipps’ class had the opportunity to travel to Area Advertising and engage in some real-world experiences. They designed and made two signs; both pictured below, with the folks from this very supportive business and will be able to hang it in the school. We are very proud of their hard work. Mr. Williams’ students continue to see great success working with the Microsoft IT program. We have students working in networking, web design, and for the first time they can now learn programming skills. In addition, Mrs. Phipps and Mrs. Wilburn’s students have had the opportunity to take, and most have passed, a portion of the MOS certification. This is also another new opportunity being provided to our students. We appreciate our teachers working so hard to provide these opportunities, and our students preparing and giving great effort to obtain these results! Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) Preschoolers enjoyed learning about hibernation this week. Students chose an animal that hibernates and then drew the type of bed they would hibernate it. On Thursday, we worked on our math skills by sorting teddy bears by height and color. We also had new friends begin school this week! What’s happening at central office / district this week?
