Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: #2--You get it done no matter how long it takes. You are “managerless,” meaning no one else has to worry about whether you are getting it done. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…
Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity) We had another fantastic week at RPS. Students are working quickly learning…The Russell Way. We had over 100 students earn stars this week, which is one way we use positive reinforcement for great achievements. We had a great turn out for our first Family Reading Night on Thursday. RPS is super excited about our PTA Open House/Informational Night on Tuesday. Pre-K is coming this week too!! These are exciting times at RPS! Russell High School (From the desk of Mrs. Chaffin)
Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) This was a great week at the Russell Area Technology Center! We are appreciative of the MNA parents for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with us as we shared our plans for the school year. We also had a great time this week meeting parents of our 8th grade students during the RMS open house. In the building, our students are now getting the opportunity to take the things they are learning in class and put them into action, just as you can see in the picture below. We look forward to continuing to watch the great work of our students and teachers as we begin another week! Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) We had an AWESOME turn out for Open House! 53 families were represented! Our returning 4 year olds have grown so much over the summer! We can't wait for our little ones to come next week! What’s happening at central office / district this week?

“The Difference between Ordinary and Extraordinary is that little extra”—Jimmy Johnson Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: #1—You don’t look at the clock, and you’re not punching a time card. Your role is not defined by time. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity) We had a great first full week of school at RPS! Procedures and expectations are being learned very quickly and our students are all smiles so far!! Faculty and staff have worked as a team to help with training all of our students and it has made this one of the smoothest years ever! Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright)

Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) We have had a great start at the Russell Area Technology Center and we are appreciative of the students and staff who have worked so hard to make that happen. Students have quickly been moving through all safety training and have been able to get to work with their hands-on learning. Pictured below is our inaugural MNA class. We are excited to see this program move into the next stages and we are happy to see all of our programs continue to grow and do great things for our students! Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) Our Preschool program is growing! We are still enrolling students. Open House will be August 25th and we will have students on Aug. 30th! Preschool is ALL IN! What’s happening at central office / district this week?
Thank you for a great opening and great first full week!! It’s a great day to be a Red Devil!! Have a great week Russell! -- Sean Superintendent Weekly Note #1 It doesn’t take a TITLE to be a leader! Are you a leader who is “All In” for kids? 1.You don’t look at the clock, and you’re not punching a time card. Your role is not defined by time. 2. You get it done no matter how long it takes. You are “managerless,” meaning no one else has to worry about whether you are getting it done. 3. You realize you are part of something bigger than yourself, and humbly accomplish the goals because of a larger motivation than just you. 4. Giving just the “minimum” amount of effort required to get by without “getting in trouble” doesn’t even cross your mind. 5. Your hard work and excellence is done with pure motives. You are not worried about climbing the ladder or impressing anyone. 6. "We" is much more important than "me." If I win, the team wins. If the team wins, I win. 7. You are willing and motivated to improve daily. Getting better at what you do is not a choice, it’s a requirement. 8. You maintain a high standard of excellence because the team/organization/brand demands it. You don’t want to let anyone else down on the team. 9. The vision compels you to greatness. Not the opposite—“your greatness compelling the vision.” Many leaders get this backwards. 10. Your intentions and goals are clear. I know what I’m getting, and I’m never concerned about any ulterior motives. 11. You are trustworthy. 100 percent. Always, with no exceptions. I know I can count on you. 12. Constant pursuit of the extraordinary, not ordinary. Constant pursuit of unusual, not usual. Constant pursuit of being the best, not average. 12 points by Brad Lomenick--president and key visionary of Catalyst Great first 3 days Russell!!!! Keep up the great work for our students! If my office can be of assistance to you…please don’t hesitate to reach out. It’s ABOUT KIDS!!!!! |
