Big Congrats to Board Member Jane Ehrie on her retirement from the Russell BOE! Mrs. Ehrie spent over 20 years serving our district and community. If you get the opportunity to thank her for her service…Please do so! #3--You realize you are part of something bigger than yourself, and humbly accomplish the goals because of a larger motivation than just you. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…

We learned about the pilgrims crossing the ocean and the first Thanksgiving. We also ate a Thanksgiving Feast! Thank you Ms. Angie and the rest of the cafeteria! #2--You get it done no matter how long it takes. You are “managerless,” meaning no one else has to worry about whether you are getting it done. Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright) We had wonderful attendance at our annual Veteran's Day breakfast! Our choir performed, individual students sang and danced, and our leadership teams served breakfast to a gym filled with service people and their families. A huge thanks to our cafeteria crew, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Stephens (Greenup County Extension Fine Arts Agent), Mrs. Dalton (Choral Director), and our Student Leadership Teams for a smooth running and entertaining event! Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) This week, as we continue to strive to provide our students with new learning opportunities, the Anatomy and MNA students had the opportunity to travel to the Bodies Revealed exhibit in Ohio. This was an awesome experience for students to be able to bring to life the lessons that are being taught in these classes. As always, our students represented us well and have been able to bring these lessons back with them to complete further activities in the classroom and lab. Have a Great week Russell!!!! Sean “Do Simple Better”--Joe Madden (Manager of the World Champion Chicago Cubs) Big “Thank You!” to Mr. Dave Caniff for sharing the quote and the picture for this week! Great message to pay attention to the little things and “Do Simple Better!” Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: #1--You don’t look at the clock, and you’re not punching a time card. Your role is not defined by time. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…

We made a graph about what we would like to do when we get older. All classes exercised their right to vote. Each class voted on different topics in their room.
