Russell Family,
On March 23, 2018 our Intermediate School hosted a "Donuts with Dads" event and on March 30, 2018, our Primary School PTA hosted a “Donuts with Dad” event. Today, I was made aware the facility we purchased the donuts from had an employee diagnosed with Hepatitis A. We have contacted both the facility where the donuts were purchased and the Ashland-Boyd County Health Department. The diagnosed employee was not involved in the making or packaging of the donuts that were part of the Primary & Intermediate School event. The Health Department has indicated to us that the likelihood of contracting Hepatitis A from this exchange is “almost zero”, however, I still wanted to make you aware of what has occurred. Further information is also available from the Ashland-Boyd County Health Department at 324-7181 or the Greenup County Health Department at 473-9838. The safety of our school community is our number one priority. If you have any questions or concerns please contact my office at 836-9679. M. Sean Horne Superintendent

Thank you for the information. In spite of the possibility of the occurrence, I commend you on the efforts made to provide a positive event for children/grandchildren and dads/granddads. We look forward to sharing this special time each time it is offered.
