Big Congratulations to our RMS Band Program under the direction of Mr. Brent Hunt and Mr. Levi Dalton on their Distinguished Rating and being invited to perform at the KMEA conference. Big Thanks to Mr. Terry Thompson for the recognition of our Band program and what we are doing for our kids! Really proud of our Bands! It’s A Great Day to be a Red Devil! Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: Vision Statement #2--Our School Family plays a crucial role in student development, achievement, and success. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…
Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity)
Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright)
Russell Middle School (From the desk of Mr. Moore)
Russell High School (From the desk of Mrs. Chaffin)
Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) One of the important aspects of the education we provide at RATC is our pathways. Students follow pathways that allow them the skills to be successful in the future, and by successfully following these they are able to obtain industry certifications that give them greater opportunities in the workforce. This week we want to say a big thank you to the counselors we work with in preparing our students. From the time they are in middle school, Mr. Casto is sharing information about the possibilities available to them in the future, preparing them for these opportunities we offer. Each year as high school students, the counselors advise them as they make these plans for their future and assist in assuring our students follow these pathways. Mrs. McConda, Mrs. Perry and Mr. Casto are such great supporters of our students and we appreciate the effort they put into helping them achieve success! Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) This week our Science explorations have continued with our experiment with conversation hearts, new magnifying glasses, & a new set of binoculars. As for next week, we will be conducting an experiment with the old school volcano, new plastic animals & a habitat for them, & a light & sound touch circuit!! Room 207 is full of Scientists!! What’s happening at central office / district this week?
It’s a great day to be a Red Devil!! Have a great week Russell! Sean
