This Saturday is our REEF Mardi Gras Event at Bellefonte Country Club! The event begins at 7:00 PM and all of the proceeds go directly to our kids! REEF has raised over $200,000 to benefit our district and kids! If you can make the event, please do so! Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: Vision Statement #2--Our School Family plays a crucial role in student development, achievement, and success. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…
Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity) Thanks to Super Quik for donating donuts and milk to our Perfect Attendance Race winners:
Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright)
Russell Middle School (From the desk of Mr. Moore)
Russell High School (From the desk of Mrs. Chaffin) · Lindsey Seaton was named All-Regional Swim team member. She advances to state competition. · RHS Academic Team competed in Regional Governor’s Cup competition. · Madison Darnell has been nominated for Miss Basketball, representing the 16th Region. · Both Varsity Basketball teams locked up #1 District Seeds for next week’s District Tournament. · National Spanish Honor Society members attended State Conference. Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) Students at RATC are gearing up for the Dare to Dream Entrepreneurship competitions that will begin in March. We have some very creative students who attend our district, and these competitions allow them to explore opportunities that put this creativity into action. Last year, with the help of our business teachers, our students were highly successful both in the area competition and in the tri-state contests as well. We appreciate Mr. Fosson and Mr. Thompson who took time to assist and share ideas with our students this week. We are blessed to live in such a great community of people who love being partners with our students and teachers and we thank them for their continued willingness to make events like this happen! Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) This week the Little Scientists in Room 207 sorted reptiles, explored with our new telescope, & experimented with the old school volcano. Next week, we plan to taste test astronaut ice cream & create a chart to determine if more of our sweet friends like astronaut ice cream better than the traditional treat. Preschool is sweet!! What’s happening at central office / district this week?
It’s a great day to be a Red Devil!! Have a great week Russell! Sean
