Never try to be better than some else. Be the best you! --John Wooden Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: #5--Your hard work and excellence is done with pure motives. You are not worried about climbing the ladder or impressing anyone. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…
Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity) Book Fair was a huge hit with all. We had over 500 people visit the library on Family Night. We had over $12,000 in sales for the whole week! Attendance Store was a success as well. Students purchased items with their Devil Dollars, which were earned for each week of perfect attendance! We had a big turnout for our Polar Express themed Parents' Night Out! Thanks to our wonderful PTA for all of their help with all of the above! They are the best!!! Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright)
Russell Middle School (From the desk of Mr. Moore)
Russell High School (From the desk of Mrs. Chaffin)
Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) We had an awesome week at RATC this week, as our students and teachers continue to work hard to complete the first semester. We appreciate their hard work and wish them the best of luck as they prepare for their exams. Our HOSA students had the opportunity to spread some cheer this week as they travelled to Oakmont Manor to play Jingle Bell Bingo with the several of the residents. It was a great experience for the students to begin building relationships with those they will be working with during their clinical experience next semester, but it was also a wonderful opportunity for them to have the chance to brighten the day of several people. We appreciate them working hard to make this a special event, we appreciate Ms. Layne for her working in getting this trip together, and Mr. Hall for always working with us to get our students safely to and from these enrichment opportunities! We are always thankful for the students and staff we have the opportunity to work with each day at RATC. Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) Preschoolers read The Gingerbread Man this week. They mixed, rolled and made Gingerbread boys and girls...and they didn't run away! We read The Mitten and even got to lace our own mittens together! What a wonderful week! We are looking forward to next week! What’s happening at central office / district this week?
Have a Great week Russell!!!! Sean
