Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: #2--You get it done no matter how long it takes. You are “managerless,” meaning no one else has to worry about whether you are getting it done. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…
Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity) RPS students participated in Jump Rope for Heart in PE all week. Thanks to PTA for helping out!! Our students raised over $10,000 for the American Cancer Society! Second grade students performed for a big crowd at the PTA Sponsored Evening with the Arts. Singing, dancing, and artwork from all classes were on display Thursday evening. Thanks to Golden Corral for providing some refreshments for this special event!! Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright)
Russell Middle (From the desk of Mr. Moore)
Russell High School (From the desk of Mrs. Chaffin)
Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) We had another awesome week at RATC, as we continue to see our students take the skills they learn and apply them to real-world projects. Some of our highlights this week include:
Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) This week, Mrs. Crump's class is continuing our science theme by exploring the oceans. We are learning about the water, the plants, and the creatures that live in the sea. The children really enjoyed watching shark videos and moving around like various ocean animals. Ms. Snyder's class worked on their number by skills by rolling dice and counting out that number of seashells! Mrs. McKee's class read about ocean animals and created ocean paintings. They all enjoyed their trip to the Highland's Museum! Mrs. Moore's class has been using their new STEM materials in the block area and creating their own games! What’s happening at central office / district this week?
Have a Great week Russell!!!! Sean
