Cabell Midland contest...21 bands competed!!!! 1st place guard in class 1st place band in class 2nd place percussion in class 3rd place drum major in class Overall out of all 21 bands: *Best overall music *Best overall color guard *Best show design *GRAND CHAMPION BAND!!!!!!!! Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity) Another awesome week at RPS!! Kindergarten had an eventful week. Thursday night was the Title I/FRYSC Kindergarten Parent Information Night. A special thanks to our K teachers for taking the evening to meet with parents to discuss how to work with their children at home. A very special thanks to Ms. Becky Roark and Sam Burney for putting together an education materials kit that went home with all who attended this event. Kindergarten students also learned all about apples this week, and celebrated with an apple tasting party on Friday!! Thanks to the parents for sending such tasty treats!! Ms. A Conley, Ms. Edmonds, and Ms. Williams are bringing STLP back to RPS!!!!! We are so excited that they are doing this. Ms. Greta Casto has our teachers wanting to use BREAKOUT in their classrooms after she presented a hands-on activity during our faculty meeting. Thanks Ms. Casto!!! What’s happening at central office / district this week? September Board of Education Meeting---TONIGHT!!!! at 6:00 PM in the RHS Library. This is an open meeting and a great opportunity to learn what is going on in the district. Great leadership opportunity!
