Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: Vision Statement #1—Our Students are our top priority. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…
Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity)
Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright)
Russell Middle School (From the desk of Mr. Moore)
Russell High School (From the desk of Mrs. Chaffin)
Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) Our electricity students have had the opportunity to apply their knowledge through a real-world project right here in our building. We have seen some impressive work by some of our more experienced students as they wire these circuits and understand the requirements of jobs in the real world. We are lucky to have instructors who have recently worked in their respective fields, and we appreciate their ability to bring these important employability and job-related skills into our classrooms and labs. We also received some awesome pictures from our visit to AK Steel a couple weeks ago! We appreciate them providing these for us to document this great trip they planned for our students. Below is one of the pictures, as Mr. Spainhower provided them with further information concerning the inspections that take place within the facility. Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) Preschoolers have enjoyed a busy week with sequencing our story, Room on the Broom, decorating witches' cauldrons, making Witches Brew, & counting witches, candy, cats, & cauldrons. We ended our week with our Halloween parade & party!! What’s happening at central office / district this week?
It’s a great day to be a Red Devil! Have a great week Russell! --Sean
