Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: Vision Statement #4—Our community shares our desire to develop highly skilled and productive citizens. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…
Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity) It has been bitterly cold outside, but RPS has been filled with warm, smiling faces as students and staff was so very excited to be back in school. We had a record high "Class Stars" earned this short week, as students' behavior was outstanding overall. Check out our first Lunch Bunch of 2018: Also, before the break we had the Good Character Giveaway. These students received bikes or Nintendo Switch systems the day before Christmas break: Student Council fundraises to pay for the Nintendo’s. A special thanks to the Smith's Masonic Lodge for donating the bikes and helmets!!! Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright) Students and staff had a great transition from a two-week break to school. Everyone slid right into their school routine and everything ran smoothly! A special thanks to our HVAC crew who kept our school safe and warm during extremely cold temperatures! Every area of our school was comfortably warm for our students and great learning was able to take place! Russell Middle School (From the desk of Mr. Moore)
Russell High School (From the desk of Mrs. Chaffin)
Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) We have had a great start to the 2018 portion of our school year here at RATC. Students have been reviewing their safety standards for our programs as they prepare to continue with their work in our labs and classrooms. We look forward to seeing our students demonstrate their learning by earning industry credentials this spring that they will use as they move into their future! On behalf of the students and staff here at RATC, we also want to give a big THANK YOU to Dave C., Tim, Billy, Dave Y., Danny and Kenny from the maintenance staff, as well as Roy from here in our building, for the great work they continually do for us. Although it has been cold outside, our rooms have been warm and have provided a great setting for our students to learn. We appreciate the hard work they do year-round to maintain all the different areas of our school! We look forward to a very productive and successful 2018! Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) It was a short week, but we sure were busy! We have enjoyed comparing & contrasting the stories, The Mitten & The Hat!! We loved going our virtual field trip to the author, Jan Brett, art studio & seeing how she creates the illustrations for her books! What’s happening at central office / district this week?
It’s a great day to be a Red Devil!! Have a great week Russell! Sean
