Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: #7—Great team members hold each other accountable to the high standards and excellence their culture expects and demands. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control… 1. My ATTITUDE 2. My EFFORT 3. My BEHAVIOR 4. My ACTIONS to be a Great Team Member Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity)

Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mrs. S. Thompson)
Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) Mrs. Stephens' Class We have had a great week in preschool learning about Fall and going on a nature walk! We had a picnic outside under the trees and collected leaves, acorns, sticks and pine cones. We have made fall crafts and read several fall books! We love this colorful time of year! Mrs. Delong's Class We finished up talking about Fall this week. We talked about why leaves change color and all the colors they change. We went a nature walk, looked at the leaves and how they are starting to change, and gathered leaves, acorns, and pinecones. We read the book leaf man and then used our imagination to make things of our own with all of the items we gathered. Mrs. Grizzle's Class This week we read, There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly, and practiced sequencing the events in the story. We will be reading a few other books about the lady and sequencing those stories also during the month of October. We practiced spelling our names, counting, & identifying shapes. Mrs. Moore's Class We have a "burning house" in our dramatic play center and we have pretended to be firefighters using the hose on the fire. We identified shapes and used shapes to create fire truck! Stop by our display in the hallway and see for yourself! What’s happening at central office / district this week?
