The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you. --B.B. King Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: #7--You are willing and motivated to improve daily. Getting better at what you do is not a choice, it’s a requirement. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…
Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity) Students at RPS had a great week. PTA treated all students to popcorn and sno-cones on Tuesday for KY Kids Day. We also celebrated our Chick-fil-a Students and Teachers of the Month on Thursday. Congrats to Addison Hale, Paul Fugitt, Haley Caseman, Vivian Fraley, Troy Cantrell, Mrs. Skaggs, and Mrs. Jachimczuk!! A very special thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Barfield with Chick-fil-a for feeding our outstanding students and teachers! Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright)
Russell Middle School (From the desk of Mr. Moore)
Russell High School (From the desk of Mrs. Chaffin)
Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) It was another great week at RATC, as our students and teachers continue to take the information being taught and bring it to life through hands-on activities throughout the building. We finished our week this week with Mr. Tim Gibbs from Ashland Alliance who came to speak with our business classes. Mr. Gibbs is a great partner with us and we appreciate his desire to help us take the students we educate and connect them with the local businesses in this area. We appreciate our teachers who work hard to bring in these awesome members of our community, and those who are always willing to take the time out of their schedules to come join us. Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) Mrs. Moore's class had so much fun going on a bear hunt last week, they brought their Teddy Bears to school this week and had a Teddy Bear picnic! All classes were treated to a visit from Officer Tackett and other community helpers. What’s happening at central office / district this week?
