Life Has Two Rules: #1…Never Quit and #2 Always Remember Rule #2 --Unknown. Each week I will highlight some of our opening day themes: #8---You maintain a high standard of excellence because the team/organization/brand demands it. You don’t want to let anyone else down on the team. RIS Mission: Our mission is to inspire and empower all students to reach their maximum potential: one student, one lesson, one day at a time. Things I CAN Control…
Continue to focus on the RIS four core beliefs: It’s about Kids! —Accountability—Transparency—Communication. Positives across the district……….. Russell Primary School (From the desk of Mr. Cassity) We had an exciting week at RPS. Students and faculty both enjoyed all of the Spirit Days throughout the week to celebrate Homecoming. Kindergarten enjoyed their first official field trip to Imel's. Students completed their second round of STAR testing, except for kindergarten, which took their first Early Literature test! We celebrated attendance with the Attendance Store to finish up the week on Friday (Thank you PTA)! Baby Carline Grace arrived early Monday morning and she is perfect! Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Caniff!! Russell-McDowell Intermediate (From the desk of Mrs. Wright) Great learning was topped off this week with our first Monster Mash and Dash! It has been years since the students at Russell McDowell have had a carnival and thanks to our PTA and community volunteers, it was a great one! Immediately following was our Monster 5K Dash! What an amazing community event! Russell Middle School (From the desk of Mr. Moore)
Russell High School (From the desk of Mrs. Chaffin)
Russell Area Technology Center (From the desk of Mr. Trimble) This has been another wonderful week at the Russell Area Technology Center. We appreciate the efforts and hard work of our staff and students. Our students continue to see many new and exciting opportunities as a result of the hard work and planning by our teachers, and as a result of how well they represent us in these activities. Some of our highlights this week include:
Russell Preschool (From the desk of Mrs. Staton) Mrs. McKee and Ms. Snyder's classes visited Imel's this week! They took a hayride, fed the goats, and picked a pumpkin to take home. It was a GREAT day!! Mrs. Moore's class is going this week! We are proud to announce that our Preschool Program has received a Tier II Preschool Implementation Grant! The goal of the grant is to improve kindergarten readiness through high quality early childhood programming for students. Russell's Preschool Program and RECLC will work together to increase enrollment of eligible students, and to ensure that all students are receiving developmentally appropriate programming. We are VERY excited to receive this grant and are anxious to get started! What’s happening at central office / district this week?
Have a Great week Russell!!!! --Sean
